What is PRP?
Clients seek an effective, natural, minimally invasive procedure with short downtime and few side effects possessing long- lasting results. Platelet-rich plasma therapy is a treatment method that can harness those desirable qualities and amplify the natural growth factors your body uses to heal tissue. Plasma is a component of your blood that contains special “factors,” or proteins, that help your blood to clot. It also contains proteins that support cell growth and helps to stimulate your collagen’s ability to rejuvenate. Researchers have produced PRP by isolating plasma from blood and concentrating it. Platelets have the unique ability to rev up collagen and elastin production, which helps repair the following skin issues: Uneven skin tone, wrinkles and fine lines, dull, lifeless complexion, hyperpigmentation, and acne scars.
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device that contains multiple fine needles. These needles are used to puncture the skin at various depths to create a controlled skin injury. Each puncture creates a channel that stimulates neovascularization and neocollagenesis to fill these microscopic wounds. A variety of microneedling devices exist with needle entry depths ranging from 0.5 to 2.5 mm. Outcomes of microneedling vary based on the device, the depth of needle penetration, frequency of needle penetration, and the number of passes. The needles cause dermal micro trauma, which stimulates the release of growth factors and cytokines. These factors in turn stimulate collagen, elastin, and neovascularization. Studies have shown that microneedling initiates collagen synthesis, specifically collagens I, III, and VII.
PRP with Microneedling? AKA: Vampire Facial
When you combine these 2 procedures you get the best of both worlds. It’s one of the most effective treatments for minimizing fine lines, diminishing facial scars, and promoting a youthful, healthy glow. The use of PRP to amplify the regenerative effects of microneedling is highly effective and research indicates that the addition of PRP improves cosmetic outcomes. Our facility uses one of only two FDA approved devices to perform microneedling and we use FDA approved blood separator and collection tubes for your safety.
We now offer the Subnovii Plasma Pen!
It effectively takes advantage of the fine layer of ionized gas, or plasma, that exists along the surface of your skin. Plasma devices emit energy that instantly sublimates a precise spot on the skin area. A sealed wound is created and shock delivered to the tissue below to stimulate fibroblast activity which stimulates collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.
The tip of the plasma device never actually touches the skin but it’s the power of molecular physics that gives this treatment its magic.
